Cool

I have never owned a blender before so I really didn't know what to expect. The blender portion itself is glass which I was glad to see. I thought it was going to be plastic. This particular one also works with the individual portion cup. I did not know what this is. But apparently it is a cup so you can easily make to go single portions without using the big main glass blender part. It came with instructions that I found hard to understand. There was a quick start guide which gave you orders in which to add various ingredients at which times to get better results. Like liquid soft fruit then ice.....so I used this instead of the main instructions. I obviously washed it before using. For my first try I used milk, one while banana, and three while strawberries. I only used the blend button. And you can see results in picture. It absolutely chopped everything up effortlessly. I have not used ice in it yet but I really do not see myself using it for that reason and did not want to take chance of damaging it. So I can not say if it would do a good job for that or not. I did use it again to make some milk shakes. I added milk then ice cream. The first time it didn't seem to blend it very well which was surpising to me. I opened the lid and stored and could it was pretty thick so added more milk and then it did fine. We had tasty milk shakes that night. I hope to find more receipe such as salsa to continue seeing how well I like the blender. I hope this helps.

Best Blender We've Had

I don't know why this doesn't have higher ratings. We bought this @ our local Walmart last Sat. It's a tough decision which to buy with so many offered, in gr8 colors, + different features. This was purchased for making my protein shakes. We had the little Hamilton Beach One Serving for yrs. It was ok but didn't hold enough + didn't completely dissolve the protein powder + left little clumps of ice. This thing is AMAZING!! Wish we would have had one like it in our Party Days of fancy blended drinks. Broke a few blenders doing that. This thing does everything to perfection. I can even make enough servings to last a day + store it in the fridg. It's got a lot of power. I know others questioned the wattage of it but I think it IS 550 watts + does the job of one. It's very heavy duty. (Love the glass jar too). In conclusion, I need to add that this thing actually has a cleaning button + it works well.

Powerful Blender!

Let's start by pointing out that the design of this blender is so modern and nice looking...I have the silver color and it blends so nice with my other kitchen appliances...the bottom is not heavy at all...It's not exactly chrome...seems more like plastic but trust me it looks really nice...The jar is heavy...since it is a 6 cup glass...The design of this blender is tall too...not wide at all which is a plus for people that have quite a few appliances on their countertop....I first used the blender to make a smoothie...and it's very powerful...within seconds the smoothie was done....I also made a avocado dip...and I had no problems with anything getting stuck in the bottom of the jar...like the cilantro would in my old blender...I'm very happy with this blender :)
