Microwave DirectionsIn a 3-quart microwavable bowl, combine rice-vermicelli mix and cup of butter or margarine. Microwave uncovered at HIGH 1 minute. Stir. Microwave at HIGH 34 more minutes or until vermicelli is golden brown. Remove and stir in 5 cups water and Special Seasonings. Microwave uncovered, at HIGH 2326 minutes or until rice is tender. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed. Range Top Directions (Preferred Method) What You Need Cup butter or margarine4 Cups water1. In a large skillet, combine rice-vermicelli mix and butter or margarine. Saut over medium heat until vermicelli is golden brown, stirring frequently.2. Slowly stir in water and Special Seasonings; bring to a boil.3. Cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer 2025 minutes or until rice is tender. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.About 6 cups prepared. Enjoy! Less Fat Directions:Follow Range Top or Microwave Directions, except substitute butter with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Fat reduced to 2.5g from 8g per serving. Saturated Fat reduced to 0g from 1.5g per serving. Trans Fat reduced to 0g from 1g per serving. 25 calories from fat per serving, reduced from 70 calories.

Great stuff and sesame oil makes it even better!
I tried this Rice A Roni stir fried rice flavor for the first time, recently. I really enjoyed it! I made a few tweaks by sautéing the dry rice mix in sesame oil instead of butter. I also added about a tablespoon of sugar (one of the secrets to restaurant style fried rice!) to balance out the saltiness I knew would be in the seasoning packet. I added a small dash of soy sauce to bring out the umami flavor I crave. I sautéed shrimp in sesame oil, and sliced up some green onions length wise and added both to the pot just before the cook time finished for boiling the rice itself. It made for a nice meal that was tasty and very satisfying! I now know that Rice A Roni stir fried rice is a great base that’s 99.9% the way to the finish line on making fried rice at home when I’m craving it and don’t want to deal with a take out place, or spend a bunch of money.
