I have a glass wall on one side and a dry wall on the other. It's can perfectly adjust and the rubber stopper doesn't break the glass wall. There is a rubber stopper on each side. Of the gate. Love this product. I use it to keep my dogs out of the kitchen.

Like other baby gates, I've installed, putting this together was incredibly easy. I actually like the fact that the door was assembled separately from the rest of the gate. It leaves no marks on my walls with the rubber pads on the pressure mounts. The spindle rods are very, very long so it can easily extend into a 40" opening. Although the door does not swing shut automatically, that is not an issue for me because I do not want it to. The locking mechanism slides open and closes easily and locks easily, too. I got this delivered along with some groceries, and I was disappointed that I got one that had already been opened and had previously returned. I could tell because the end had been taped shut and the allen wrench/hex key was missing from the bag containing the frame assembly screws, the wall mount screws, and the door mounting pin. The box that was containing all of the parts had also been open and torn. Because that doesn't have anything to do with the actual product itself, but rather the lack of attention to detail by walmart employees when it had been returned and not double checked to make sure everything was included in the box, I did not take away any stars. The gate is meant to prevent our dog from wandering down the stairs and going outside barking in the middle of the night and disturbing the neighbors. This will do exactly that.
