Seems to dull quick

We are a small Plumbing & Heating company in SW Montana and purchased a dozen of these bits to try out on our rough ins. We had previously been using the Milwaukee versions. I used one for the first time this week and after drilling about 50 holes in 1.5" dimensional douglas fur joists the bit would not drill. It seems like the outside cutters just rounded off. I asked the other guys in the shop is they had the same experience, and they all said that they did. It starts out drilling great, buy after a couple of dozen holes the outside cutters just round off. I am not sure if we got a bad batch or what, but we are going back the the Milwaukee version.
