Get's the job done

I live in a household of only 2 people so this rice cooker is perfect for making smaller amounts of rice without having to spend over $100 for quality rice.

SO far = SO GOOD!

Granted it's been a week of DAILY use - for plain rice AND other food uses. First use was for parboiled brown rice- 2 cup measure. I added a little extra water and it cooked perfectly in about 20 minutes- I did check and stir twice while cooking= great result. I used half the rice then added 1 can of peas and 1 can of carrots [ with liquids] and used the cooking cycle again to produce a watery soup mix. I added some butter and seasonings for a very tasty soup- nothing stuck to the uncoated aluminum cooking liner. Next I tried chicken broth- some butter and small macaroni shells- good results! It's not just a rice cooker! Adding a little extra water and a little butter is working for me to get perfect NON STICKING results. The warming cycle has automatically kicked in so it works- I left it on 1 hour to test= ok. PROS-so far all things have worked for me. CONS- the E Cuisine has NO off switch - YOU MUST UNPLUG FROM THE WALL to STOP the cooking process OR you will get burned-stuck on foods. SO monitor the cooking process and maybe add a bit of fat [ butter/oil] and occasionally stir as food thickens to avoid burned foods. The COOK cycle gets very hot after about 3 minutes and liquids begin to boil-- then it cooks hot for about 10 minutes and kicks to WARM. Harder BROWN rice will take more water and maybe 2 cook cycles [ with some stirring]. I'm VERY pleased as I only paid $11.75 [ 3-2018] so watch for frequent price changes on Walmart.com items! Frequent use will decide if the electronics keep working -- reviews on other sites are often negative but I think positive. PS- it says 6 cups = that is 3 dry cups with liquids to yield 6 COOKED cups. ;-)
