Crown XLi800 Audio Power Amplifier 300 Watts Continuous Power 2.0 Channel Audio Power Amplifier

Have powered my home stereo with a DC-300 and later DC-300A since 1974. In January 2020, my DC-300A failed; and, rather than finding someone to repair it, I opted to buy a new Crown power amp - and bought an SLI 800. WOW, what a disappointment!! Snare drums had no "crack," the presence was woefully lacking - as though the music was 5 feet behind my speakers. Overall, listening at any reasonably loud volume was harsh to the ears. If you need a clean, great-sounding amp, this is NOT the one you want. THD for DC-300a - 0.001%. SLI 800 = 0.5% 500 times worse... Pros: Great appearance; seemed well-built.
