RESONATOR GUITAR Acoustic-Electric SEPELE SPRUCE Single Cutaway Steel Pan Blues

This instrument has low quality components and poor geometry. There is a twist in the neck, and pickup system was designed for an acoustic guitar. The electronics are just slapped into this guitar as an afterthought. I'm a professional guitar tech and only after putting another $300 of parts and labor into it did i find it playable. I don't recommend this instrument because any money you save from buying this generic cheapie will go right to a guitar tech just to make it decent.

Guitar looks beautiful. Frets are a little sharp, but seem even. Tuning keys are slipping right out of the box. They tune unevenly, very cheap tuners. When I opened the box, the grill that covers the small sound hole had fallen out of the hole. It is held in by what appears to be double sided tape, rolled up. I put it back in but it is easy to pry out using my fingernail. Very cheap, poorly constructed. Action is extremely high so almost unplayable out of the box as a fingered guitar. Some people might like that if they want to use it strictly for slide. Very small frets. Guitar requires a 9V battery for the pickup to work which I don't have on hand. Resonator is working well so far. Sounds okay acoustically. If I were planning to use his strictly for slide I'd give it 3 stars but I had hoped to be able to use it as an acoustic guitar. The tuners are the worst issue though. I doubt they will last long. It doesn't play well, but it sounds good and looks very good. It is a very pretty guitar.
