The fit is TRUE TO SIZE. I ordered a size up (12/14) for my 8 year old son who wears size medium 8 because of the many reviews saying it runs small. However, the 12/14 swallows him up. I wish I had ordered his usual size, however, they were all sold out at the time I received it. Ultimately, I kept it because it is so cute and cozy and he was disappointed to return it.
