This set is versatile because you can store food and microwave in the bowls (without the lid on ) thus reducing washing multiple containers. I replaced all of my plastic storage because of safety from plastic chemicals. You get no stains from food or greasy residue that plastic containers tend to have. You can't go wrong with Pyrex and these are perfect for storing and cooking food. I used the cup size containers right away to freeze individual portions of homemade soup and the 4-cup size to make do for New Year's. The covers for tight and are ready to remove. You need to make sure you get them on right to make sure they're sealed. The sizes are perfect for my storage needs.
