Fit and finsh good

Wish they had more item that fit into the slots, as the crossbars I ordered did not fit and are on back order for full size trucks. Now wishing I wouldn't have spent the extra $$

Weak Spring

This 124M-XT is my second purchase of a Roll-n-Lock retractable cover. My first was a 2017 Chevy Colorado 261M-XT with a much stronger and more reliable retractable mechanism than the current 124M-XT. Are there simple instructions available for me to tighten the spring and improve the retractability.

OK overall - design/build needs to be tweaked

Overall happy with the product. It functions smoothly and does the job. For the price, I just think it's a bit under-built and would benefit from a bit more robust design. Mainly, the overall water-tightness of the design could be improved. The roll up cover's housing - the box it rolls up into - is not adequately sealed against rainwater intrusion; I had to caulk its internal seams as well as the drain holes that the drainage hoses are fitted through, and tape over two of the holes in the back of the housing. (To be clear, NOT the holes at the bottom of the housing that the drain hoses feed through. ) It wasn't an easy process as the seams are difficult to access. The removable housing cover deforms easily; it should be made of heavier gauge aluminum and/or more securely packaged to prevent it from arriving damaged. As a consequence, it doesn't seal very well against the bulkhead; I had to add weather stripping along its entire length. It doesn't look pretty; if I were handier I'm sure it would look a lot better. In heavy rain, I've resorted to applying a length of gaffer tape to completely cover the gap between the housing cover and the bulkhead. It doesn't look pretty, but it works. Lastly, installation took a couple of tries. A detailed video tutorial would have been helpful.
