This is a new one.
Bought a fat max 4 ft. level A whlle back. It worked like a level should for the first few years. I really liked how solid and light it was. I'm a bricklayer and I can't have fragile tools. This Spring when work was starting up again I collected my tools from the shed, went to work and when I used the level on my work I saw that the bright green fluid used in both ends of the level to check for plumb had lost its colour. I was looking at transparent, clear fluid in the vials. The middle bubble still retained its bright green colour. Also there's no damage whatsoever on or around the now colourless vials. This makes it very hard and in dim lighting almost impossible to see the bubble. I've been in the trade for 30+ yrs and never seen or heard of this happening to a level before. I sent this info to Dewalt and I'm in the middle of trying to get a replacement. We'll see if Dewalt stands by their warranty

Not on the level
My son bought this for me two years ago for my birthday and I was well pleased. However with it being so nice and pretty I did not want to use it on dirty jobs or where it might become damaged so I kept it in my tool box and continued to use my old fatmax one for the rough and dirty work and reserving the Dewalt for interior and finish jobs. Just so happens that while hanging a sliding barn door and using my fancy Dewalt level to attach the bar to the door casing I found out that this fancy level was about a 1/4 of a bubble off since my bar would not line up with my casing. Checked it out using the flip end to end method and sure enough it is way off. I am unfortunately stuck with a useless stick now since it is two yrs old and I don't have the heart to tell my son that he bought me a broken present. Live and learn. Check them the first day. I have owned a dozen levels over the years and have never had one that was off. Very disappointing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
