Smokey sweet flavor

I'm always looking for new ways to season chicken, as it's a staple in my house. I tried this applewood rub on grilled chicken breast, and it gave it a great smoky flavor with a sweet kick. It wasn't too salty either which I liked. I feel like this would be delicious on pork too. Try it, you won't regret it! I received this product free in exchange for my honest review.

Smokey flavor

I used this on boneless chicken thighs that i seasoned with this Applewood Rub before pan frying. It really gave the impression that it was as close to bbq chicken as you can get without actually grilling it. I would imagine this would be even better used on a grill I can't wait to try! *got the product for free in exchange for writing the review

Try Something Special Tonight

I wasn't sure what to expect when I was chosen by Buzzagent to try McCormick's (you know,the famous spice brand) new Grill Mates Applewood Rub. Was it a liquid? Did it come in a single serve pouch? Neither! It comes in a 6 oz spice container so you can either sprinkle a little bit or pour out a lot. Well,I decided to try it on pork chops-fresh,thick, boneless chops with just a bit of fat. I went for the big shebang and poured out enough to totally coat all four of those babies. I just wet the chops a bit and patted dry with paper towels. Then I pressed each of them into the small pile of the rub-each side and all around the edge until they were completely covered. Into a 350° oven they went for 20 minutes. Then I flipped them and they cooked about 20 more minutes (these were THICK chops!) When I took them out I was surprised to see that the rub had crusted over and was crispy and glistening a bit. So how did it taste? Well,it's going to be in the regular rotation of meals from now on. That first bit was so juicy and rich-spicy but not hot. So satisfying and full flavored,my husband thought I made it from scratch! It made a great cut of meat a gourmet affair,imagine what miracles it will perform on lesser cuts?!? I think I'm going to try it on a flank steak tonight... can't wait!
