Pacifica Island Art uses an environmentally-friendly Unryu Japanese rice paper made by the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Unryu, which translates to 'cloud dragon paper' in Japanese, features long strands of kozo fiber and is made from natural mulberry and hemp fibers using traditional Japanese Washi techniques - ABOUT THE ARTIST - Nelson Lyon - Nelson Lyon (1939-2012) was a designer, photographer, writer and filmmaker. He was part of the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s, close friends with Andy Warhol and William Burroughs. He was a successful writer on Saturday Night Live and made a celebrated satirical X-rated movie, The Telephone Book, with friend Merv Bloch in 1971. He was also an avid movie poster collector. Lyon was at the height of his career when he embarked on a three-day drug binge with John Belushi in 1982 that resulted in the comedian's death. Although legally acquitted of blame, Lyon never escaped the stain on his reputation and it effectively ended his career.
