Inspired by the early works of Edwin Lutyens, our bench is built from FSC-certified eucalyptus wood. Sustainable and sturdy, the naturally durable wood features a quality finish for a beautiful, low-maintenance product. Sir Edwin Lutyens was a famous British architect known for his imaginative adaptation of traditional style. The Lutyens Bench has a distinctive design featuring near-perfect proportions with an arched back and scrolled arms; no wonder it's remained popular for more than a century. Our version of the Lutyens Bench is easy to store with a seat that folds up and locks. The eucalyptus is naturally weather-resistant, but it is recommended to store furniture in a cool/dry covered area when not in use.

Love my garden bench in black! When I received it the top was cracked. I was so upset that I had to box it all back up and return it. Thought I was in for a fight. But it was so easy to put the sticker on and drop it off at UPS. That was it. In a few days my new undamaged bench arrived. I also liked the Care Instructions so I know just how to care and what to expect in the way of wear. It was a pleasure dealing with Plow & Hearth!

I bought this for my tranquility garden. It looks beautiful and is well constructed. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is because there are significant scratches on the bench, so it doesn't look brand new. It needs to be packaged better. Otherwise I would recommend it.

Beautiful bench. My husband did have problems with the opening the bench up once he finished putting it together. One of the brackets was crushed and wouldn't release. He had to bend it open some to make it release which slightly split the wood around it.
