Playmat functions well for its purpose. The padding is thick enough to be safe for my 8 month old son when he slips or falls over. The design isn't too overbearing or too colorful to be out of place in our living room. We purchased a playpen that was the same size and so our little plays on it often. Easy to clean when the inevitable spills happen.
