I like the fact that there is no bottom bar to trip over, and it's adjustable so I can use it just about anywhere around the house. This gate cost about the same as others but this one doesn't have the bottom bar which makes it a better gate to have.

The included instructions are very poorly written and make it seem like it's going to be very difficult to assemble and install this gate, but once I abandoned them and went with logic, it became a breeze. The one stroke of genius the company had was including the templates for hole placement. That made a huge difference. Way better than measuring hole to hole and getting it slightly wrong. This way you can just tape up the template and get your holes started. They did try to add some confusion and potential screw-ups by adding an extra bit of paper at the bottom of the templates which they say to trim off. Um, no thanks.. then I cut it a bit crooked and my measurements are off. Ignore that, leave the strip there and your gate will just be 1/4 inch higher. No biggie. I love the easy operation. I installed this to keep a sadistic opossum off my back porch/deck where he otherwise enjoys leaving his poop for me to have to clean up even though I have no pets of my own. No more, mister. It's working.
