Most Comfortable Utility Knife Ever Made

The DeWalt DWHT10295 is a remarkable utility knife that is jammed packed with features that help you work better. It has been my experience that utility knives that offer a quick-change feature often fail to keep the blade locked inside, often causing the blade to eject under heavy duty cutting tasks such as cutting shrink wrap or carpet. Many times, someone will design a utility knife with gee whiz features that exhibit serious safety flaws with an amplified over-priced product. DeWalt somehow managed to engineer a product that meets my philosophy of utility knives. Good common sense features that don't attempt to wow you, but are there to provide value. Value is what the DeWalt DWHT10295 offers. Here is a complete list of features: The first thing you'll notice is the large size. The front end bends to make reaching for a cut much easier on the wrist to help keep the knife straight during the cut. The location of the comfort grip on the bottom and top make this the most comfortable utility knife in my entire collection while the width makes for an absolute perfect grip. This is especially important because I suffer from dry skin during the cold winter months of the year and the DeWalt DWHT10295 is a pleasure to use. There are several methods to grip this utility knife. * It features a rubber grip on both sides near the blade. * A rubber grip appears above the blade for your index finger. There is a convenient wire stripper on the bottom of the front that allows for instant cutting of thin wire without the need to extend the blade. The carabiner clip on the back provides an attachment option. A convenient storage inside of the handle holds up to five blades. To open, just push the small yellow tab up from below. The storage compartment is water-tight sealed to keep moister out to prevent the spare blades from rusting. When the blade becomes dull, from the fully extended position, simply push the black button down on the left side of the knife while pulling the blade out from the front. Do not force the blade out. It should slide easily. If you experience any difficulty trying to remove the blade while pressing down on the blade release button, then simply wiggle the blade with a push/pull until it easily slides out from the knife. Now that the blade has been removed from the knife, either rotate the blade to the other side (if it's still sharp) or take a razor blade from the storage inside of the handle and with the sharp end facing down, push the blade directly into the front narrow opening until it clicks into place. PRO TIP: When replacing a dull blade, use a marker to mark an “X” on the side of the blade that is dull. When rotating to the fresh side, you will have confidence knowing which side is sharp. If you experience difficulty sliding the razor blade into the knife easily, try to wiggle it up/down as you slide it in to properly align with the lock inside. To retract the blade safely into the knife once installed, simply press down on the sliding switch on the top of the knife and slide the switch back as far as it will go. As you slide the blade in either direction, you will notice that there are four blade position stops that you can use. Those blade stops allow you to control the length of the razor blade. The 4 blade positions are: * The first locked position is perfect for safely slicing open food packages without contaminating the food. * The second locked position is for opening packages that are too shallow. * The third locked position simply makes it easier to open packages. * And finally the fourth locked position is the easiest cutting position for most other packages. Overall, there are many utility knives sold in stores and in my personal collection. I really like the way it sits in my hand, the smart design, the bright yellow color and overall package. This product offers a generous limited lifetime warranty against defects. Although this product is my favorite utility knife in my entire collection, there are a few things that I did to make it better. First, I noticed that the spare blades had oil on them, so I dried them with some napkins. Second, I found that the slider was too stiff to use, so I lubricated it with WD40 by placing the nozzle into the top opening of the knife with the switch fully extended forward and a quick spray. PRO TIP: If the switch happens to get stuck in the open position, just insert a narrow object (like a screwdriver) and gently push forward to realign the sider. Once again, this is my all time favorite utility knife. I lubricate all of my utility knives with WD40, so this pro tip is a universal strategy to use. The DeWalt DWHT10295 is Made In The USA. This product is so good, I am personally recommending it to you.

DeWalt's Premium Retratable Utility Knife

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the New DeWalt premium retractable utility knife a couple of weeks ago and it's awesome. I carry it with me all the time. It's what you would expect from DeWalt, top quality products that are tough and durable to get the job done. It has a very nice blade release to be able to switch out blades super easy. It's a solid tool that I would highly recommend. Plus, it's made in the USA. It's a Great tool to have.

All the problems in a Utility Knife, solved!

Throughout the years I've always heard people in the trades always complain about one thing or the other in regards to their Utility Knife. Well, thats because they usually aren't using Dewalt, but more importantly, they're not using this particular product. I cant stress enough, all the problems, across the board with all uses are solved with this Utility Knife. Blades hold and blade exchange are unmatched against everything I've ever used. Blade storage truly keeps your blades rust free. Ergonomic handle, holds great and fits perfect in carpenters pants side pocket or back pants wallet pocket. Rubber gripping doesn't let it slide out of pocket when sitting or squatting, but is in such a way that it's not a hassle getting it in and out of the pocket, its really perfect in that way. Handle also is a superior hold to your hand, NO sliding or need to adjust the hand because the handle prevents certain angles, none of that nonsense, Dewalt nailed this in all details and follow through in production. Us Multi Trade people have been waiting forever for this flawless design and your Utility Drawer at home didn't know until now, it needed this. Why have a Utility Knife AND something to hold blades, creating clutter in the drawer. I did a bunch of cutting sheet rock and the blade never pulled out and all the dust never jammed up the blade change. I used to to score plywood, blade never pulled out. This is a must for every trade, whether its in your tool pouch, maintenance bucket, work bench in the shop or the utility drawer at home, this is the new standard. Thank You Dewalt for giving us, the pros and everyday Joes, what we asked for! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
