Philips Norelco 5100 Rechargeable Wet/Dry Electric Shaver S5210/81

For the last 30 years I have been using a Electric shaver, With most of them being the Norelco Brand. So I have personally seen the improvements over those passed 30 years. First of all in the beginning Electric Shaver required you to be Plugged into an AC power source, then the Big break though, Cordless. Then came the Floating heads, which was a big improvement over the stationary heads. Next in the progression came the Washable blades that could be rinsed out after using and let to dry till the next needed use. Now that being said I last purchased my current Norelco Shaver about 3 years, so now this new Norelco 5000 series is much lighter and Balanced than my last Norelco Shaver and with the pivoting of the 5 directional heads it allows me to get the closest Shave EVER. I love the Fact that I can again wash out the Shaving heads, along with SmartClick precision trimmer, which allows me to trim my sideburns and Ears hair(Yes a added fact of Mature Men). I would Definitely recommend this NEW Norelco 5000 series Electric Shaver! Something's Definitely have improved over the Last 30 years and this Norelco Shaver 5000 series has been the best I have ever had.

I received this item from the Spark Reviewer program and was asked to provide an unbiased review. The Philips Norelco Series 5100 Shaver is a very nice shaver. I have been using this shaver each day for over one month. Honestly, when I first used it I did not like it at all….but keep reading. I have always used an electric shaver with straight heads, not round disc blades. I read the instruction manual to see if I was possibly missing something or using it incorrectly. The manual stated very plainly that most people have issues with a new shaver and that there is typically an adjustment period of a few days to three weeks for the new razor and beard. So, I continued and day by day the shaver, and beard, performed better. The shaver comes with a power cord, cover for the shaver heads and a precision trimmer head. The shaver has a contoured design to feel good in the hand and has a solid feel, even though it’s made of plastic. The three shaver heads move in five directions, basically they swivel and pivot to stay in contact with your face. The manual states the MultiPrecision blades raise and cut the hair. I have a thick, fast growing beard….I’ve noticed a closer shave that last longer into the day. Also, I have not encountered any razor burn or irritation from this shaver. The shaver states it can be used wet or dry. I never attempted to shave in the shower so I can’t speak to this option. The shaver head and precision trimmer are two separate pieces that attach to the main unit for use, referred as SmartClick system. I will say this is not as convenient as having the precision trimmer built into the unit, but I don’t use it often so it’s not a big deal. The shaver fully charges in less than one hour and has a 40+ minute runtime. The shaver only operates as cordless…the shaver will not run if plugged into the wall. The shaver does have a five minute quick charge to allow for one shave. The shaver has lighted symbols for charging, battery and cleaning. The shaver does a great job of maintaining the hair it cuts and is very simple to clean. The shaver head has a single press button to empty contents. The shaver heads can be easily cleaned by running water through the blades, eliminating any need for a brush…I really like this feature. Overall, I am very pleased with the Norelco Shaver 5100. I would recommend this shaver to anyone searching for a well-designed shaver that will provide a close comfortable shave.
