Patterson’s Butcher Board Beef, All Natural, No Water Added, No Preservatives, 28 oz Can

This is a moist tender beef that works very well in any recipe. I use it most for my homemade vegetable beef soup, but find it also lends itself well to hot roast beef with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice. I have not tried it myself, but I think this would also be good served up as hot beef roast sandwiches with a side of au jus for dipping. How does it smell? Well, like all canned beef when you first open it you might think ummm nope, but skip that initial feeling and go ahead with your planned use. Once you heat and season this beef to your taste there is very little taste difference between this and a home cooked roast, with the exception that this product is much more fork tender and is easy to shred if desired (I do shred mine using a fork while it is still in the can, and it doubles the amount of meat for my soups). Oh, I also do not drain off the liquid because I find it helps flavor my soup or my beef and gravy; I do not discard the minimal amount of fat either, as again, I find it helps boost the flavor.
