351 Cleveland 4V Headers

I purchased these headers for a Mustang Build. I believe that they must have been a returned product that was re-boxed for sale. The gaskets were in really bad shape on arrival and both of the flange areas at the collectors were bent. The price was low enough that I repaired them instead of returning them.

Get what you pay for

This set came sticking out of the box. There was no packing and the headers had banged against each other a great deal. The collector flanges had to be repaired due to the lips being bent on both pieces. There were two sets of gaskets with this. One set was bent in half but that was not the set that I needed. Installation required multiple modifications. The headers wrapped too close to the transmission. I was able to shave a bit off of the separator plate and file the bell housing. I had to build 1/4 inch shims to raise the engine so the headers wouldn't rest on the steering gear box. I also shaved the head of the gear box bolt. It is close. I had to customize the passenger motor mount to allow for the tight fit there. I'm not saying anything else would have been at a tighter specification or a better fit, the car was not designed for a 4V head. Since this is my first purchase from FlowTech, I am simply not sure about their quality control.
