Gerber Plastic Tubs are causing hives

My son has sensitive skin and three days ago he started breaking out in hives. We had just introduced tomatoes and assumed that to be the culprit. For the past three days he has been eating these Gerber plastic tub foods for lunch and dinner. No other brand/types. He had the squash for lunch (so we could rule out the tomatoes) and got the hives again. His daycare called and sent photos. We thought maybe it was something they had used to clean his high chair so we tried this flavor for dinner. Again, hives on his face and arms within 5 minutes of eating. So I googled hives and Gerber tubs and found the Mac and cheese with sweet potato has a ton of 1 star reviews referencing hives. I'm horrified that we have been feeding this to our son. What is Gerber putting in the packaging for it to be causing this many baby's to have hives and why haven't they done anything about it?
