Stainless steel gears with a high-speed gear ratio make the Squall LD perfect for nearshore trolling for kings and dolphins. 2nd Purchase of this reel
I purchased this same reel from Cabelas a year ago and tried it out over the 4th of July fishing for Yellowtail and Tuna out of San Diego and I just love it. In fact I loved the reel so much that this is my 2nd. The lever drag is really nice and worked perfect on 20-40lb fish, excited to see how it will do with the larger Tuna as I plan to go back many times this year. The line markers inside the reel are really nice so you have an idea of how much line you still have on the reel and the fold away or switch blade hooks on top of the reel are very nice too as to keep them out of the way if you don't need a harness attached to the reel. I have used the rental gear in the past and it is so nice to have my own equipment now, maybe that is why I caught so many fish!! Can't beat the price either.
