Dangerous formaldehyde level! Stay away!

Attention, parents!!! We bought this drawer for our newborn room. Once we assembled the drawer it started to produce very very strong formaldehyde smell. It has a statement that it contains formaldehyde as a lot of different products in our life nowadays. We thought that the smell would disappear in time but it is not. It contains so much of this chemical that it can be dangerous for the baby. Be cautious and do not let your baby inhale it. All the clothes and air in the room have the smell of formaldehyde.

Hi Andrey, All of our furniture is non-toxic and compliant to all CPSC/ASTM guidelines. Some parts of our dressers contain MDF (to bolster structural safety and for improved sustainability.) MDF contains trace levels of what would qualify on a molecular level to be “formaldehyde,” but our products pose no greater risk of exposure to emissions than a baby would get being held by someone post-manicure (you’ll find that same Prop65 warning on most nail polishes.)We’re a company run by mommies and daddies, and we all use Oxford Baby furniture in our own homes because we are so confident in (and comforted by) the safety and quality of the furniture that we produce. I hope that this information has provided you with peace of mind so that you enjoy your nursery furniture with the knowledge that your baby is safe.
