Key item features

  • Protective Design: The OutFox Field Guard is patented and engineered to shield dogs' eyes, ears, and noses from barbed grass seed penetration.
  • Versatile Application: This guard also serves to deter scavenging and offers protection against insects.
  • Safety Clarification: It is explicitly stated that the Field Guard is not a muzzle and should not be used to prevent biting.
  • Foxtail Defense: The product is designed to intercept foxtails before they can enter a dog's nose or ears.
  • Mesh Material: Constructed from a mesh material, the guard has closely spaced holes, which means 100% fail-proof protection against foxtail penetration is not guaranteed.
  • Regular Inspection: Users are advised to regularly inspect the Field Guard to remove caught foxtails and check for any puncture holes that could compromise its integrity.

Gives my dog some freedom

I like it. A few years ago I lost a puppy because he grabbed a deadly mushroom right in front of me. Even with care from the Vet, he passed. The following year I adopted another puppy and he also wants to eat everything he comes in contact with. During warm weather months, the mushrooms are everywhere. Even though we routinely walk the yard and pull mushrooms they can fruit within hours during the right conditions. I have a fenced in yard but must leash this pup and watch him every second. Many times that is not enough and he will grab a mushroom and I must induce vomiting. So far, he has not found that deadly mushroom the first pup found. The mask has allowed me to take my pup off the leash and he can run and play. He can even run after his frisbee which is one of his favorite things to do. He hasn't figured out how to pick up his ball but he keeps trying. I still stay right with him but he has some freedom now. He is occasionally able to dislodge the guard. I am thinking of sewing another velcro collar strip to the front of the guard to keep this from happening. The idea of putting a treat in the guard while putting it on was a great idea.
