Difficult to get on/off; loose fitting once on

Bought an XL. It was difficult to get on, but then very loose fitting at the top and bottom of the sock after getting it on. Also difficult to get off. Bought it for achilles tendonitis and ankle joint pain/support. Did not work. Bummer, because the price was right and the quality of the materials were good.
