Cinema sound at home

I had an older SH7 sound bar and having purchased a new OLED LG TV wanted a sound system to match. After reading almost every review, the SN11 seemed very expensive (although it did have rear speakers with Atmos) and the SN9YG seemed like a cut down SN11 minus the rear speakers. The autumn sales made the SN9YG very attractive indeed and I am not disappointed. It also has a proper centre speaker which works much better for dolby surround sound tracks. I also use it as a replacement for listening to my audio collection. The only negatives are that 2x hdmi inputs would have been nice and probably more importantly the inclusion of an audio jack to take audio from other wired devices (although if there was a second hdmi input i guess that could be used with a convertor). I also purchased the rear speakers (SPK-8) submitted as a separate review. Overall I would recommend this soundbar.

Great soundbar for Atoms and 5.1 audio

Setup was a bit confusing using an iPhone as instructions not very clear, but using a google pixel phone it was very easy. The LG WiFi speaker app on iPhone is great and easy to use to alter the setting on soundbar Atoms sound on-steaming services like Netflix is great using e-arc if your TV supports this connection. If not the 5.1 audio is also very good.. Google voice is very easy to use and I use it to find radio stations Only fault is now and again the soundbar does not connect to TV via e-arc when TV turns on. You have to turn off soundbar at mains plug and power up again. Not sure if this is the soundbar or a software problem with LG Oled CX65 Tv software as similar problem posted regarding TV on internet.

Super Soundbar

Connecting the soundbar to our LG TV was straight forward using the HDMI/ARC and using he app to calibrate the system to the room was again easy and quick. We have added the wireless rear speakers for the surround sound which improves the sound experience when watching block buster films. We mounted the soundbar on the wall using the brackets provided again straight forward as there is a template included, the only problem was that we had the TV already mounted on the wall and the height had to be adjusted to give enough clearance between the top of the soundbar and the bottom of the TV (the templates shows this too). Using the HDMI through connector on the soundbar means we can attach a laptop and play through the soundbar to the TV. The soundbar has various options including blue tooth, WiFi etc We have a Harmony remote and that works well with the soundbar (except turning on and off the surround sound which needs the actual LG supplied controller) Overall a good step up from the old Sony Theatre system we had (and the TV sound) much less in terms of trailing wires
