The bag is double, with the inner bag vacuum packed into a solid brick with non-toxic co-2 gas to prevent the hatching of tiny beetles, a very common problem with rice the consumer can only prevent by freezing the rice for 48 hours or cooking it all immediately. This is delightfully aromatic and long grained as expected, Indian basmati is so much better than US grown basmati which is good food but not as nicely textured, long grained or flavored. I like to pressure cook this to preserve more of the aroma. The only better rice than this is the smoked Indian basmati and that's more expensive. The hint of smoke is nice but it is also the original way of preventing tiny insect eggs from hatching during long term storage. Please remember that there is no GMO rice being sold in the USA so any time you see a 'non-GMO' label you are being deceived by the organic industry marketing campaign. GMO is a breeding method, not an ingredient.

This came very well packaged. It was shrink wrapped, in another outer package. It was a decent price for basmati rice. I love basmati rice. I could eat it plain. This is a quality rice , tastes great. It has a great aroma Its organic and sustainably farmed, no additives. It has a lot going for it besides the great taste. It was ten pounds though. I split it with my children
