Despite its compact size, it boasts an industrial-strength 1-1/2 hp motor for the power you need. Belt changes are fast and easy with the Jet sander's quick-release belt tension lever. Disc changes can be made quickly thanks to the quick-lock dust cover. With 90-degree and 45-degree positive stops, the Jet belt and disc sander can sand both flat and mitered items as well as operate at virtually any angle or orientation. The belt is kept in position while in use by a dual thumbscrew belt tracking mechanism. The steel platen is covered in graphite and allows the Jet sander to run at a lower temperature, therefore increasing its lifespan. Its belt guard makes full use of the belt's 6-inch width and length.
