Optimus H-5511 Portable Indoor Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Space Heater

I already own a large Optimus circular radiant heater, but wanted a smaller, non-oscillating model for use when I get out of bed on cold mornings (my wife likes 60F for the central heating system) and need to boot up my brain bedside without shivering in the cold air. I typically use the low-heat, single operating element mode, with the heater about three feet away from me. The heater's radiant beamwidth covers me entirely at that distance. Although the heater produces warmth as soon as you switch it on, it builds to full heat in less than a minute. The heater sits stably on the floor, and the tip-over switch provides positive protection. The control switch is convenient and has a nice, positive "feel" to it. My only complaint was with shipping; the undamaged box arrived at the store quickly, but one of the two plastic feet of the heater were shattered. I had to reorder a new unit and do a refund on the old one (because the broken foot and tip-over switch makes the unit unstable). This was a defect of the OEM box and packing, not the Wal-Mart box, so unpack and inspect your unit carefully when taking delivery.

This is the perfect little heater for me. I use it about 8 to 10 feet from my chair while watching tv. I would place it closer but that would require an extension cord, which isn't recommended. It's completely silent.
