If you don't have a regular antenna anymore, you are truly missing out. Since digital TV is out, there are a lot of channels that are sub-channels now (like 3.1, 15.2, etc.) A lot of these are not rebroadcast through cable companies so you might have stuff for free you will never see with cable. This particular one is the longest range one also, which helps tremendously because I am right on the threshold of the window-mounted options range. This solves all of those issues in one package. Channel clarity is crystal and to be honest the signal actually looks a little clearer than the rebroadcast I receive through cable. The downside is that this shows in the instructions that it will work in an attic but it did not for me as I had to mount it outside. However, because of my location I did not have to mount it nearly as high as it's suggested to (I can put it on a porch column because the tree line towards the broadcast antenna is very low.) I will still seek out a more permanent location for the future as high as I can place it without going past the chimney and risking a lightning strike. I do have some concerns long term as I don't know how this plastic housing will hold up with our high heat here in the South, but it works great in it's current configuration. If you have the ability to roof-mount this, this model is definitely the way to go for the best signal possible.
