I have to double the dose because there is only half the amount of lutein and zeaxanthin as in the same manufacturer's (Bausch and Lomb) Areds that the ophthalmologists are promoting. It makes it expensive. Best thing is that they use real sugar, sucrose, instead of aspartame derivative sugar, sucralose. Areds uses sucralose which causes me to cough. I have to take the chewable as I have aspirated a pill into my lungs causing many problems for 6 days. They are so sweet that I have taken an extra one! They could be easily eaten by children if they got access to them.
