Product details
Rice, seafood and seasonings repeatedly appear in the foods of South Louisiana. Jambalaya is a rice main dish made with almost any meat or seafood and most often combines several kinds of each. Highly seasoned with onions, herbs and pepper, it is a delicious way to serve bits of leftover meats. Long ago, jambalaya was cooked outdoors in large, black iron pots over open flames and stirred with boat paddles. This is true even today at many of the fairs and festivals of the area. With OAK GROVE SMOKEHOUSE CREOLE JAMBALAYA MIX, this authentic, flavorful dish can be created with a minimum of time and effort. Serve with garlic-buttered French bread and tossed salad for a meal you will want to repeat time and time again!

Instructions
SERVING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cut into serving size portions and pre-cook 1-2 pounds of meat such as beef, pork, chicken or wild game. Seafood and pre-cooked meats (ham, sausage, etc.) can be substituted. 2. Into a heavy aluminum or iron pot add 2 1/2 cups of water (when using more than 1 package of mix: reduce water to 2 cups per package) or lightly seasoned stock and meat ingredient. 3. When mixture comes to a boil, stir in OAK GROVE CREOLE JAMBALAYA MIX. 4. Cover, and when mixture returns to a boil, reduce heat, stir and simmer 20-25 minutes or bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 45 minutes - 1 hours. 5. When rice is cooked, remove all excess liquid with a spoon or ladle. Remove from heat and turn JAMBALAYA lightly. Let stand for 5 minutes. 6. Fluff mixture with a fork before serving. OAK GROVE CREOLE JAMBALAYA MIX may be prepared in a rice cooker or a microwave oven using the above proportions and appliance instructions. Variations: Bell peppers, green onions, mushrooms or tomatoes may be added to suit personal taste.

Jambalaya for Thanksgiving
my package arrived on time I was thrilled because I'm cooking a big jambalaya for whomever comes down for Thanksgiving but instead of the jambalaya mix it was dirty rice mix. the horror I know, but I called and their customer service I believe her name was Kaliey, she was amazing and she immediately fixed the problem, she shipped out the jambalya mix. ASAP to me and apologized profusely and then told me to donate or keep the rice. this company is truly family oriented and I wanted to thank them for coming in in a clutch when I really needed to impress some out of town folks with my southern cooking.
