My wife is a fan of anything labeled "French Country" style, which I have come to understand as a combination of farmhouse and shabby chic styles, but which often merely features a simple, clean and airy style with lots of cozy warmth. This rug really fits squarely within that aesthetic. The floral design is simple enough not to overpower the space but interesting enough to add some flourish. The color palette is very warm with a yellow overtone that immediately warms up a space; it also helps downplay the green hues. My wife is always looking for a rug that adds interest without overpowering the room and allows for a lot of color combinations in the space that don't compete with it, and this rug is perfect for that. Looks really great paired with other neutrals but is itself neutral enough to be paired with a couple other stronger complementary colors (especially reds, coral, mint green and stronger yellows). Another key, important feature is the quality. Though with a lower price tag and lower pile, this rug seems very well made and unlikely to shed or show dirt much. Will fit perfectly in our rustic-styled home and withstand the wear and tear of traffic from 2 dogs and a messy, crawling baby. Note: this review was submitted as part of a contest
