Size according to your swelling.

They were extremely hard to put on but again, I had massive swelling post operation. I was wearing a size 12 shoe when I wear a 10 wide normally. My wife was able to get them on, I wore them for about 6 hours and had to take them off because they started to cause pain. I ordered 3x through a medical supply and they did better. As swelling goes down, I will use the XXL and Xl again until I am better.
