Excellent

I am a trained microscopist and am accustomed to using high quality professional microscopes. I wanted to buy a beginner microscope for my niece and never thought I would find one with which I would be pleased. I was quite impressed by the quality of this product. The objective lenses are quite nice and allow for impressive imaging for a product in this price range. In addition, I was also impressed that the scope has both transmitted and reflective light capability. This is a wonderful beginner microscope for my 8 year old niece.

A great scope, excellent value

This microscope makes a terrific gift for a child. It's easy to use, works with slides and objects both, and comes with stellar customer service. Our children began using this at ages 6 and 7 and continue to enjoy investigating both the prepared slides and things they find outdoors. We've watched creatures in pond water, looked up close at feathers, fish scales and other objects and generally used this microscope to enlarge our understanding of the natural world. I've also taken this into a classroom setting as a volunteer and the children that used it loved it. Do not buy junky "toy" microscopes for your child....I speak from experience when I say they are just frustrating. Get this one instead. When a light stopped working, I called the company and got a live person on the first try who figured out right away what was wrong and shipped me a new part. Love this microscope.
