I bought this to keep some food around. One of the reasons I like Mountain House is that I can try them in the pouches first to find out which ones I like the best. I then buy the #10 cans of my favorites. They have an excellent shelf life, and they're easy to prepare even without electricity. All I need is a couple of small logs and my camping grill, about 10 minutes later, I'm eating.
