Perfect relief for my insertional achilles tendonitis!

This shoe has a higher heel with a drop of 12mm and just enough cushion. I did take out the manufacturer insole and added my own to make it even more supportive. I have very very high arches and have been suffering for close to a year with achilles problems. I feel no pain walking in these.

Felt the pain running in the new 26s

I've been wearing Mizuno Wave Riders since I started running in 2017. I have wide large feet and these have always felt comfortable and springy as a mid foot striker. They've had some odd years where the material quality wasn't great with weakness in the toe box but overall I've never had any issues despite minor changes. I just retired my two pairs of wave rider 25s. Put on my 26s to go for a 5k. They felt weird. Instantly, I noticed pressure on the inside of both of my heels. It's almost like they reinforced the medial aspect of the shoe. To double check I put on one of my 25s and kept the 26 on the other foot. Very different feel from each other. The 26s are definitely higher around the inside ankle and heel. I didn't notice much on the outside but that may be because the inside felt so off it was all I could focus on. I tried a short (5k) and longer run (7 mile)in these shoes. After the 5k my legs ached and my feet hurt. After the 7 mile, I had horrible knee pain. My feet have never hurt after a run. And the knee pain was unlike any I'd ever felt. It felt like I was forced to run on the outside of my foot. I hope this is just a fluke year and that next model I can return to my favorite brand of running shoe.

Not the Same Wave Rider

I have also been running in this shoe for 20 years. Definitely not the same fit. The toe box is much larger, causing everything to slide around and it's not a sizing issue. Every time the model gets an update where Mizuno tries to use "new, lighter, faster" materials, it just doesn't work. I had to buy version 25 again and junk these after two weeks.
