Minn Kota Precision Onboard Charger 3 bank x 15 amps

Got it before I had expected to receive it! Installed easily . And is performing really well. Called Min Kota and they answered my question, and picked up immediately.

My 2018 Triton 189 TRX came with the same charger installed by the factory. It charged the batteries right up until it didn't, lost two of three charging banks. Because I needed to replace the charger immediately and because the space where the charger fits in the boat didn't leave a lot of room for anything that was much different in size and shape I replaced it with the same model. In my opinion the charger is way overpriced and considering what it cost should have lasted longer than a few months short of four years. Hopefully this new one will outlast the original, if not, even if I have to completely rearrange everything in the bilge / battery locker I'll be trying something else. I have the same type of opinion of my 80 lb Fortrex trolling motor. It works and works well, no complaints there at all. But I've had to replace the plastic head cover three times now. The two piece cover uses plastic screw bosses. The factory original one came apart out on the water ending a day of fishing after the first year of usage. It was apparent that the bosses where the screw seats had cracked and broken. My dealer handled under warranty. OK, stuff happens. Two years later, it happens again. My dealer covered it under warranty again, but now that it has expired if it breaks again I'll be going into my pockets. It's not that they are that expensive or that they are that hard to replace, it's just aggravating that it could have been just a little better engineered and built and these failures wouldn't have happened at all.
