The Last of an Old Era (Before Load)

This was the last album, the black album before Load, Reload and St. Anger showed up and I'm not knocking against Death Magnetic but when it comes to their old stuff it didn't match up, it did however show they were going in the right direction. This was the last album from the old days before Lars Ulrich decided they were a hard rock band no different from AC/DC or any other in that category even as the time this album released not only were they front and center but the emergence of biker metal was prevalent because it was the 90s and Pantera was leading the charge there along with Rob Zombie. Even if Metallica changed thanks to Lars during the 90s, Iron Maiden didn't proving their brand of metal still worked in the 90s with a strong dash of biker style. This was even held in high regard by late Gen Xer's who felt Load, Reload and St. Anger were all weak albums, this black album got them into metal and got them exploring the various genres and artists of metal music. Enjoy this one as within the chronology the next one is Death Magnetic apart from their release of Garage Inc. which features unreleased stuff from the early days, it still feels good in our metal souls to revisit this. \m/
