I researched this love seat in comparison to others and received it yesterday. I'll note that the manufacturer's website lists it for $1730 and I bought mine at Sam's for $135. With all of the reviews to date being from a "promotional program" (free?), I didn't trust them to be honest, so I looked a little deeper for information. I watched the price for a few days and finally purchased the day before it went to over $500. It's now over $600 at Sam's.
It was received ahead of schedule by three days and it arrived in a very manageable box via Fed Ex (who texted delivery stats so I would know when to expect it). It was well packaged for shipping, including corner reinforcements in the box to minimize crushing during transit.
The piece took less than 1/2 an hour to assemble, which was really just putting the legs on (Allen wrench and screws included!) and sliding the back into the frame. Very easy.
I don't know what "SamsShopper" is talking about. Two average adults can sit and be very comfortable space wise on this item. Further, I don't see where weight would be a problem with two average sized adults. The capacity of 225 pounds is probably just a low-ball number to ensure absolute safety and protection from potential problems from customers. Again, however, I don't see a problem with 2 average sized adults safely using this item. SamsShopper saying it wouldn't suit her needs of sharing it with another adult is lost on me... I can't see a crowding or weight issue. It's very solid.
The cushions ARE quite firm, but I prefer that as they will maintain their shape better and the fabric won't slide around on the cushions.
This item is very well made, with straight seams, sturdy legs, and a solid feel overall when sitting on it. Each seat measures 23" wide, which is roomier than airline seats. As part of my whole house renovation, this piece will fit perfectly in several places. The light gray against my deeper gray walls and future black carpeting will be a beautiful contrasting palette.
For the price *I* paid, this is a wildly good deal. I wouldn't say it's worthy of $1730 dollars from the manufacturer and over $600 seems high for this smallish piece, but I would consider it if cost wasn't a factor in decision making.
It makes a great accent piece in any room!
