Lining up the display with the top of the breadboard helps to identify its pins easily. We also include a potentiometer to control the contrast of the display for clear viewing.
DC Motors and L293D Transistor Learn how to control a small DC motor using the Mega board and an L293D transistor. The L293D is a quadruple high-current half-H driver designed to provide bidirectional drive currents. It can drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, DC, and bipolar stepping motors, making it a crucial component for robotics projects.
74HC595 Shift Register and LEDs The 74HC595 is a Serial to Parallel Converter. While it makes driving LEDs slightly slower (changing states 500,000 times a second instead of 8,000,000), it is still faster than the human eye can detect. This chip allows you to control multiple LEDs using fewer pins on your controller board, a valuable skill for efficient circuit design.
