Just what I wanted!

I splurged and bought these pants full price - something I never do, but got tired of ill fitting, lesser quality hiking pants that clogged my closet over the years. Word of warning: I had to order 3 times to get the proper size. Ended up 2 sizes down from my norm. At this size the inseam is a tad on the short side of my 32' need, but there is plenty of room to let them out if I want to. I like everything about these - 3 way convertible (4 if you count partially unzipped legs to vent), slimmer fit (if you are pear shaped you may not like them; I found them perfect for my apple shape of 'thicker' waist and thin hips/legs). Side pockets could be deeper and zippered, and the cargo pocket is too short for an iPhone 7 to zip it closed. (I almost lost my phone when taking a bio break in the woods, but that's another story.) Would be nice if the waist had a bit of stretch - I needed to wear a belt but that's not a huge thing. I wore these walking in England and they were great. Nice fabric, sheds light rain, but take your rain pants for heavy rain conditions! I didn't and I regretted it; but it was only 1 day of hard rain, and they dried quickly once out of the rain. Easy to zip off the legs and just rinse the mud off of them at night. Short gaiters solved that problem on day 2. (Would probably have to remove my shoes/boots to remove the legs while moving, but I gave up that feature to have a less baggy pant.) I'd recommend them to a friend of similar dimensions as mine. (I can see why some people didn't like the leg zippers - if you have bigger thighs they might rub; and the waist definitely does NOT cut in for anyone with a proportionally small waist.)

Great Travel Pants

I am headed to NZ/AUS at the end of the year and was looking for light weight multi use pants and these fit the bill to a T. They are light, dry fast and can go from warm day to cool nights without even taking them off. Just be careful not to zip your skin :)

Great for hiking

I've worn and washed these several times and I still very much like them. Breathable and so very comfortable. These pants do run a little large so I'd suggest ordering a size smaller than your jean size. I originally ordered a 6 (my jean size is 5/6) and they fit well enough to stay on and be marginally comfortable just wearing them around the house but when I got on the trail, I quickly realized they just weren't going to work out. I went down to a size 4 and they're perfect. I've since bought two more pair and expect I'll by more in future.
