My pit bull is 14 years old and very picky. I have bought her a dozen beds in the last few years and have ended up throwing them all out within a few months of use. She never seems to fit right in them and the stuffing usually flattens out very quickly and she goes back to her preferred sleeping spots such as my couch or my son's bed. But because of her age she can't climb up onto these places without difficulty and then can't get down without assistance. I found this bed here at Hayneedle for the most affordable price anywhere and the grey color I picked matched my new grey bedroom. Upon delivery, my 7 year old son first laid down in it and he fit, so then of course my dog jumped in to join him. She fit perfectly! She looks super comfy and loves resting her face on the raised edge. A few weeks later I threw it in the washer and it washed beautifully! Now she only sleeps on her new bed. My Shepherd loves this bed . . . I needed a bed that is waterproof because one of the beds is outside. I originally ordered a size large because I didn't have a lot of space and my German Shepherd was 85 pounds which was within the size chart for large. It worked fine when he was curled up but didn't quite fit him when he stretched out, so I kept a ""large"" for his indoor bed when he's curled for sleep and ordered the extra large for the outdoor space. He loves both beds. Very comfy and cushy (sometimes I sit in there with him). I still cover it at night to avoid soaking with dew but it seems really well made and love the design. I've added photos to show why it's necessary to get the right size!
