Do NOT buy the cheaper ones!!

If considering the thin stock pots for the low costs - DON'T! Those shouldn't even be available. The rivets will immediately begin to corrode %26 disintegrate the first time they get wet. This can easily result in contaminated food when cooked it (death unlikely, but def unhealthy). This pot however has rivets made correctly. They're polished to a finish matching the body %26 handles and have shown no signs of the aforementioned problem. The bottom has some weight to it due to the addition of dissipation plate, but not a lot. It also retains heat for longer than the cheaper ones when removed from a source. I'm mixed on the lid Pro: Equipped with steam pressure release nozzle to help prevent boil over while still maintaining a majority of liquid. -However Con: Pressure release is not optional. There is no way to close it. Con: There is a tight crevice where the glass meets the outer metal ring. Food may get stuck (Ex: lid used to strain pasta). I have had macaroni get lodged. What's more important is to focus on that spot when cleaning. Con: No seal between glass and the rim of the top handle. Water will get in there, so may want to keep a Phillips head in a kitchen drawer readily available. I'm utilizing a cheap build-it-yourself screwdriver specifically for this. Despite the cons, this pot is worth it if you're on a budget or only need for secondary/occasional use. Ultimately anything that doesn't corrode would beat the cheap'o and there are no do-overs if life is shortened due to choices that disregarded health. %23TMYK

My pot did not come with a lid. This pot makes me think of T—Fal or Revereware. It's a good weight. I'm not straining and asking for help to take it out of the oven when I'm marathon cooking a big roast. I wish I did have a lid. Over the years, I do have a grave yard of lost lids. I found one that fits my new pot, like it was made for it. I received this as a gift. I would recommend this pot to anyone who aren't able to afford plain Revereware or the upper French brand, LeCruset. This is a good pot for the money but it needs to be cared for as with all pots and pans.

I only used it once myself but I see my housemates have used it themselves so they used it and it's good to go I don't see how this was a bad purchase especially for the price
