Mainstays stainless steel prep bowl set is something every cook should have in their kitchen. This is a 6 piece set which includes, three 16 ounce stainless steel bowls, and three plastic lids. I am someone who loves to cook and these bowls are such an amazing help when I need to prepare my herbs and veggies. Since these have lids, I can prepare my food and then store it in the fridge with the lid on and then pull it out of the fridge and even serve my food in it. I love that the bowls are stainless steel, they are super simple to clean just throw in the dishwasher but make sure the lids are washed by hand only. If I have them in the fridge and then pull them out my food stays nice and chilled. The bowls come in handy for things like taco night. I can shred my lettuce, chop tomatoes, and shred my cheese and put everything into the prep bowls, put the lid on and I am ready to go. A 16 ounce size bowl is a generous size that will hold a good amount of stuff. If you are a beginner or novice in the kitchen these prep bowls will make your life easier, a great product.

I really like the actual prep bowls. They are a great size to hold prepared ingredients until you are ready to add them. These bowls are also the perfect size to whip up scrambled eggs for one or two servings. The bowls themselves would have received a 5 star rating from me, but the lids are another story. The lids are very hard to remove. They are not leak proof when secured, so when you have to wrestle with them to get them off, any liquids that may be in the prep bowl can easily spill. A positive note on the lids is that they are sturdy, so you can stack these bowls easily in the refrigerator.
