If you're going to keep this on desk or table and sip from a thin straw inserted into the tiny sipping hole in the plastic lid, then this is an absolutely superb product. It's gorgeous, easily washed, although I would not trust the lovely rose gold color in the dishwasher, and tremendously effective at keeping hot or cold beverages for hours. I have not been drinking enough liquid and finally came to the realization that the room-temperature drink just wasn't appealing enough to keep me compliant. Buy this product, add ice, pour liquid into it frequently, and presto. Now I am successfully combatting my health problems a pint at a time and enjoying the look on my table simultaneously. Worth much, much more to me than its extremely reasonable price.
But I strongly agree with users who say do not rely on the pretty see-through top that's there only to help with insulation. It doesn't screw on but just pushes on. And the gasket is neither strong nor thick enough to stay on or keep liquids inside if you try to upend the container. Not only would you get leaks through the flip-close opening designed to let you drink with the top on or else insert a straw, but you would also get leakage around all 360 degrees of the top. You might even get a chill or a burn as the top separated from the container and its entire contents poured all over you.
If you want a travel cup, then buy a travel cup. If you want a tumbler that you can just drink from as you would a glass, this will work beautifully but only if you take the top off when you drink from it like a regular tumbler, which is easy to do if you prefer not to use straws. If you will use a straw, this is a gorgeous, extremely well-insulated and pleasingly functional container that lets you sip a hot or cold drink with delight, as long as you keep it upright. I love it, and you will too, as long as you never expect the top to stay on if you tip the container.
