Brown rice is closer to what nature gives us but it's also a little longer to cook than white rice because more of the original grain is still here. Some would say brown rice is healthier for you than white rice. On a stove top or regular rice cooker, brown rice takes a lot longer to cook than white rice and needs more water in the pot but I cook my brown rice in the pressure cooker and it's done just as fast as cooking white rice but you do need to put more water in it. Use the directions with your pressure cooker for rice, both the crockpot express and the instapot have a rice button and directions for several types of rice (cook time 22 minutes after reaching pressure usually about 30 minutes total even for a large quantity). I use this for making mexican rice, yummy.
