Swtch and Bait:Beware, the Computer might be USED

The computer is great, but it was used. I paid my hard-earned money and full price for a used computer that is out of warranty. No, the fact that it was used was not listed on Walmart's site. Walmart only gave me 15% of my purchase price after I called and let them know what I finally found out when I registered the computer. I am not happy. This is not fair. Beware

The Sweet Spot.

Great low end gaming laptop for the price (799$). It is your basic build, no thrill gaming laptop that does its intended job well. To start off, having a GB ethernet port was important to me for work. The majority of laptops (unless a gaming laptop) do not have onboard ethernet ports anymore due to size constraints. While you can just use ethernet over usb, it's one extra thing to forget and lose. Has everything you need and nothing you don't. Ddr5 5200mhz ram speed with capacity upgradable to 64GB. Fast gen 4 ssd (6.0s bios boot time) with an extra m.2 slot for a secondary ssd. Surprising cooling capacity once fan speeds are adjusted. Love the dedicated max fan switch on the keyboard. Quick processor, although the i7 13620h settings are factory locked, the thermals are good-great in this particular laptop after adjusting fan curves as mentioned. 105watt rtx 4060 plays current triple A games max settings no problem on the 1080p display. The ips display would be one of my only picking spots. It looks good and is fast at 144hz, but the 250nit brightness could be better, maybe 300 . Msi used a 165hz 1440p screen in some of their other mid range laptops, which is a plug n play swap option for around 80$ if you are handy with tech. The onboard Hdmi 2.1 port gives the ability to use an external monitor if you please. Paying near the same price for an office laptop with around the same specs minus the dedicated gpu and ethernet port made no sense to me in my use case scenario. The only downsides vs. an office/professional style laptop besides screen brightness is maybe bulkiness and battery life. Seeing about 2-4hrs battery life on balanced settings out of the 3 cell 53.3whr battery. Which is just fine since im working on devices that are plugged into power anyway. Gaming laptops or pcs in general are diminishment of return. In my opinion, this laptop hits the perfect sweet spot at 799$ new. This is no Library pc ;)! Good job, MSI 👏.

Laptop

So far, so good...No complaints but have only had it a month, so a full review would not be sufficient. Need to have it at least 6 months to get a real good idea how the laptop performs.
