Right out of the box I noticed a few things that I really liked about this hair straightener. There's a lock on it that closes the straightner up for easy storage and the power button/temp gauge controls are on the inside of the straightener which makes it super convenient to use when you're actually straightening your hair. My old one had the control buttons on the outside and I'd keep bumping the buttons inadvertantly turning the device off. Very frustrating issue that this product addresses quite nicely. It heats up very quickly and goes smoothly through my hair. I have natural curly hair so sometimes that can be a challenge. I really like this straightener and recommend it.
