Absolutely perfect for small pre-teen children!

I love the shape of this deck! If you are looking for a 1st longboard for your smaller child up to the teen years. This is the one should get. The only thing I don't like about this board right out of the box is the griptape. It's has a big white Waymax written across it and it's hideous. It's a very cheap thing to fix though. If your child rides this for an hour or two a week. It's perfect as is if they don't mind the griptape. If your child can't stop riding this. Encourage that off the couch off the screen time with higher quality components to really bring this board to life and where it needs to be for them. For those children, get them some new griptape and bearings 1st and foremost. Bonez or Bronson bearings. Nothing too fancy, don't spend more than $25 on an 8 pack of bearings. The next thing to upgrade would be the wheels. For really small kids, I would recommend smaller diameter (mm) wheels, like 50mm to 60mm. This will bring the whole board lower to the ground, making them feel more stable and comfortable. Being lower to the ground subconsciously instills more confidence, it's also easier on the body when you need to push again to keep skating. For the larger or older kid's, get them something like the Orangatang Cauguama wheels. They're gorgeous! There are TWO different skapes of decks being offered at the time of my purchase and writing this. I absolutely hate one and absolutely love the other. I got thr Fire one and it is AWESOME! It becomes EPIC with Orange Orangatang wheels and the Spitfire Lava Swirl griptape though... Buy this board for a little child, even if it's not your own. This thing is what every little child should have. Like when they all had the Razor kick scooters...
